Celebrate America250 as Tommy Wilson throws the Ceremonial First Pitch at the Augusta GreenJackets Game!
Join the Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson, Meadow Garden and the Augusta GreenJackets for a special Independence Day celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
Before the game, history will come alive as young “Tommy” Wilson takes the field to throw a ceremonial first pitch, commemorating Woodrow Wilson’s lifelong love of baseball. As a boy growing up in Augusta, Tommy organized neighborhood games, managed his own team known as the “Lightfoots,” and developed a passion for the sport that stayed with him throughout his life.
This family-friendly event combines America’s favorite pastime with Augusta’s rich history, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate our nation’s heritage on July 4th. Visit the Boyhood Home’s booth at the stadium to learn more about Wilson’s childhood in Augusta, Historic Augusta’s preservation efforts, and book future tours!
Come celebrate Independence Day with baseball, history, and community at the ballpark!
